One Water NYC

One Water is a holistic approach to water management which emphasizes the perspective that all water has value, and the benefit of every drop should be maximized within the water system. It requires looking at the water system in its entirety, considering the current and future needs of all its users, and balancing them with future spending commitments to preserve affordability.

Our Integrated Water Management team applies a One Water approach to develop programs and policies for population growth and climate change, including Water Conservation and Reuse and Cloudburst Management. The One Water NYC: 2023 Water Demand Management Plan reflects on the past ten years of the Demand Management Program and explores how we can incorporate One Water and expand our water conservation and reuse programs.
