Advisory Groups

The Conservation Advisory Group (CAG) was established to advise the Public Design Commission on projects specific to art and building conservation. CAG includes conservators, art historians, artists, and preservationists who serve pro bono. Current members include:

  • Lauren Bradley, Associate Conservator of Paintings, Brooklyn Museum
  • Lisa Bruno, Carol Lee Shen Chief Conservator, Brooklyn Museum
  • Phyllis Samitz Cohen, Director of Adopt-a-Monument / Mural Programs, Municipal Art Society
  • Isabelle Duvernois, Associate Conservator, Metropolitan Museum of Art
  • Stephen E. Gottlieb, AIA and formerly of WASA
  • Tina March, Objects Conservator, David Booth Conservation Department, The Museum of Modern Art
  • Jorge Otero-Pailos, Professor and Director of Historic Preservation, Columbia University
  • Kendra Roth, Associate Objects Conservator, Metropolitan Museum of Art
  • John Willenbecher, Artist and former Art Commission member

Similarly, to expedite the review of architectural projects with limited scopes, the Commission has a designated Special Advisor who serves pro bono. The current Special Advisor is Michael Cetera, AIA.
