A Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) is a multi-age housing development or neighborhood that wasn’t originally built for older adults but is now home to a significant number of older adults.

The Department for the Aging funds 36 supportive-services programs at dozens of NORCs in four boroughs of the City, where residents can access health and social services where they live. Both in-person and virtual services offered include health and wellness activities, fitness classes, case-management assistance, help with benefits and entitlements, educational activities, outings, and volunteer opportunities.
