DHS Education Services

Office of Education Services

The Department of Homeless Services (DHS)’ mission states, "With our partners, our goal is to prevent homelessness when possible; to provide temporary, emergency shelter when needed; and to help individuals and families transition rapidly into permanent housing. We do this through providing coordinated, compassionate, high-quality services and supports."

As part of its mission, DHS is committed to the educational success of its clients to help reduce homelessness and improve lives.

The Education Services Unit within the Office of Public-Private Partnerships (OPPP) is available to answer questions on the educational resources and programming offered to support DHS clients residing in both Adults and Families with Children shelters, as well as those families at risk of experiencing homelessness. In addition, the Education Services team is available to provide technical assistance to shelters, schools, and public-private partners.
