Notice of Public Hearing and Opportunity to Comment on Proposed Rules

 

The New York City Department of Correction proposes to update its current edition of the Inmate Rulebook. The Inmate Rulebook informs people in custody and the public of the rules relating to the management of Department of Correction facilities and the conduct of detainees in such facilities including, but not limited to, penalties, consequences and procedures regarding behavior. This includes new sections and/or substantial revisions to Department rules concerning sexual harassment towards staff, prohibited conduct concerning sex offenses and changes to offenses involving assault and fighting, contraband, creating a fire, health or safety hazard, violating identification procedures and smuggling.
