More Than 9,000 Additional Monkeypox Vaccine Appointments to Become Available at 10 A.M., August 13

August 12, 2022 – The City will continue to prioritize equity and urgency in its effort to vaccinate eligible New Yorkers against monkeypox. New public vaccination appointments will go online at 10AM on Saturday, August 13. The 9,000 appointments include 4,000 doses which New York State re-distributed to the city from their most recent allocation as well as around 5,000 appointments that were previously booked but unused. Unfilled appointments include people who did not show up for appointments, ineligible people who booked or who double-booked appointments.

More than 6,000 appointments will be made available on the City’s vaccine portal: vax4nyc.nyc.gov/monkeypox and by calling 877-VAX-4NYC (877-829-4692). In addition, the Health Department will allocate around 3,000 appointments for direct referrals from trusted community partners, health care facilities, and those that operate congregate settings so that people at the highest risk have access to the vaccine.
