Air Quality

Air quality is critical to the health of New Yorkers. City, state and federal agencies measure what is in our air and study how elevated levels of air pollution may lead to health problems. This information is used to create policies, tools and practices that better protect all of us – but especially those most at risk, such as older adults, children and people with heart and lung conditions.

The quality of both indoor and outdoor air is of equal concern, but the sources of air pollutants can be different, and so require different solutions.
