The Healthy Workplace Food Initiative aims to create a healthier food environment in New York City workplaces. This voluntary effort, led by the New York City Health Department, provides a framework for organizations looking to promote health and can complement existing workplace wellness programs.
Organizations participate by adopting the New York City Food Standards, evidence-based nutrition criteria that ensure employees and guests have better access to healthy food. By implementing all four of the New York City Food Standards, workplaces can greatly improve the nutritional content of food and beverages offered in their cafeterias, vending machines, and meetings.
