The New York City Youth Board advises DYCD on the development of youth programs. The board is comprised of leaders from business, academia, government, foundations, and the non-profit sector.
DYCD administers federally funded youth workforce development programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Under WIOA, the NYC Workforce Development Board can convene a Youth Committee to support the provision of WIOA youth services. The Committee helps to strengthen the capacity of workforce development programs to provide high-quality services aligned with employer needs.
The Youth Board and Youth Committee meet jointly on a quarterly basis.
