Statement on Passing of Former NYC Mayor David N. Dinkins

NYC Emergency Management is saddened by the loss of David N. Dinkins, former mayor of the City of New York. Mayor Dinkins encouraged New Yorkers to look out for one another, supporting such initiatives as the Beat the Heat campaign (pictured) ― created by New York City Emergency Management in partnership with the Department for the Aging and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene ― which urges New Yorkers to take steps to protect themselves and help others who may be at increased risk from the heat, including older New Yorkers and those with chronic health problems.
