Interim Flood Protection Measures Mural Arts Program

The Interim Flood Protection Measures (IFPM) program is designed to protect critical facilities, infrastructure, and low-lying areas in New York City from flooding caused by a hurricane. The IFPM Mural Arts Program allows artists to showcase their work on the HESCO® barriers. These art installments are currently located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and South Street Seaport, Manhattan.

The Red Hook IFPM Mural Arts Program

The Red Hook IFPM Mural Arts Program was created to engage community stakeholders in the process of making their communities more resilient during and after coastal flooding. The designs — created by 10 selected artists from all over the world — are being used to decorate HESCO® barriers located along Beard and Reed Streets in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
