Active Community Advisories

Northbound FDR Dr. Exit 7 Ramp Reduced to One Lane at Avenue C & E. 18th Street
Starting the week of October 18, 2021. Ongoing for approximately four (4) weeks for construction activities related to the ESCR project, the northbound FDR Drive Exit 7 ramp will be temporarily reduced to one (1) lane. Please follow all signage while this change is in effect.

Stuyvesant Cove Park Closure North of E. 20th St.
Starting Friday, September 10, 2021.  To facilitate the construction of the floodwall, Stuyvesant Cove Park, north of E. 20th Street, will be closed until 2023, subject to change.

Sidewalk Closure at West Service Road between E 23rd Street and E 25th Street
Starting the week of September 6, 2021, and ongoing until further notice: Construction activities necessitate the closure of the sidewalk at the West Service Road. Closure will be in effect 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Evening Pile Installation at Asser Levy Playground
Evening work scheduled to begin August 9, 2021, ongoing through September 2021. During pile installation for the construction of the floodwall, noise is anticipated between the hours of 7:00am to 11:00pm. See previous pile installation and traffic shift advisories. Noise monitoring devices are in place.

Traffic Pattern Shift at Avenue C and E 20th St.
Starting the week of August 9, 2021, ongoing through October 2021 for vehicles and cyclists. During Con Edison utility work related to the ESCR project, between the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm. Traffic Enforcement Agents will be in place to assist the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Follow all posted signs while detour is in effect.

Daytime Pile Driving at East 23rd Street under the FDR Drive
Starting the Week of May 24, 2021, and ongoing through June 2021: During pile driving operations for the construction of the floodwall, noise is anticipated between the hours of 7 am to 3:30 pm. Noise monitoring devices are in place.

Daytime Pile Driving at Asser Levy Playground
Starting the week of April 12, 2021, ongoing through May 2021: During pile driving operations for the construction of the floodwall foundation, noise is anticipated between the hours of 7:00am to 3:30pm within Asser Levy Playground. Noise monitoring is in place.

Pile Driving at Stuyvesant Cove Park Solar One Building
Starting the week of March 29 and ongoing through April 2021: During pile driving operations for the construction of the floodwall foundation, noise is anticipated between the hours of 7:00am to 3:30pm at the North End of Stuyvesant Cove Park near the E. 23rd Street entrance. Noise monitoring is in place.

Stuyvesant Cove Park Pedestrian Detour: Between E 20th & E 23rd Street
Change to Pedestrian Access Starting the Week of February 15, 2021: Flood wall construction operations will necessitate a change in pedestrian circulation in Stuyvesant Cove Park between East 20th and East 23rd Street. This change will be in place 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Pedestrians will continue to have waterfront access in Stuyvesant Cove Park as shown.

East River Greenway Detour: Between E 20th & E 23rd Street: Update
Starting the Week of February 15, 2021: Flood wall construction operations adjacent to the Solar One facility will necessitate the following Bikeway detour, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Pedestrians to use local crosswalks and sidewalks.
