Local Law 83 of 2021
In June 2021, New York City Council passed Local Law 83 of 2021 to amend the New York city Charter in relation to the establishment of an Office of Ethnic and Community Media (MOECM), and requirements regarding agency spending on advertising.
The new local law expands Executive Order 47's requirements to include ethnic and community media broadcasts such as radio and television. The citywide directory of ethnic and community media outlets was updated to include qualifying broadcast outlets.
