Empire State Building Lights Tower on Sunday May 19th to Celebrate EMS Week 2019

May 20, 2019

The Empire State Building, in partnership with the FDNY, was illuminated in yellow, white and blue with a red and white halo at sunset on Sunday, May 19th in celebration of National EMS Week 2019.

This year, a special light show will be on display for five minutes at the top of every hour. The Empire State Building will glow red like a beacon resembling the lights on the ambulances as they respond around the city saving lives, every day.

EMS Week is an annual week-long series of events designed to promote public safety among all New Yorkers, attract potential EMS recruits and celebrate the life-saving efforts of more than 4,000 members of FDNY’s Emergency Medical Service.

This is the eleventh consecutive year that the Empire State Building has partnered with FDNY to celebrate National EMS Week. For more information on the Empire State Building and the Lighting Partners program, visit www.esbnyc.com.
