Removing the Boot from Your Vehicle

  1. If your vehicle was booted, please call 646-517-1000 to pay all outstanding judgement debt, plus the additional fees listed below.
    • Pay by phone with debit/credit card or a electronic check.
    • Or pay by cash, money order or cashiers check at a Business Center.
    • If your car is booted or is at risk of being booted DO NOT PAY ONLINE
    • If your car is at risk of being booted and you pay online, your vehicle may be booted or towed before your payment is processed. You will be responsible for all booting and towing fees.
  2. You will receive a release code immediately after full payment.
  3. When you enter the code, the boot will unlock and you can remove it.
  4. Return the boot to a return location within 24 hours to avoid a late fee of $25.00 per day.

Fees

For vehicles booted on or before October 31, 2019 there will be a $159 fee for the boot. For vehicles booted on or after November 1, 2019, there will be a $136 fee for the boot. There is also a $80 Sheriff’s execution fee as well as a poundage fee (5% of all fines including penalties and interest). If you do not pay the parking ticket or camera violation judgment debt and related fees within two business days of being booted, then your vehicle may be towed. The total amount that you must pay to get your vehicle back can be calculated using the chart below.

Tow Fee (If applicable): $140 for standard vehicles (larger vehicles have additional fees)
Tow Dispatch fee (If applicable): $70.00 for standard vehicles (larger vehicles have additional fees)

If you need a hearing to contest one or more of the outstanding parking tickets, you must ask for one at a Finance Business Center. You cannot have a hearing on tickets in judgment more than one year.
 
Under certain circumstances, your vehicle may also be towed immediately after it is booted.
