As part of the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City has launched Food for Heroes, a vital program to safely deliver hot meals to New York City’s medical professionals and essential workers.

With staff at hospitals and other healthcare facilities across the five boroughs working to treat thousands of individuals suffering from the novel coronavirus each day, this program will nourish and sustain New York City’s heroes for the fight ahead. Launched at Elmhurst Hospital on April 15, the Mayor’s Fund is providing grab-and-go meals to staff and will roll out the program to other high need hospitals and temporary triage sites as funds are raised.

Your support will help provide meals and nutritious snacks to staff within the New York City Health + Hospitals system, the volunteer medical staff traveling to New York, and other essential workers. These fresh, pre-packaged meals will be delivered with the utmost care to maintain proper social distancing and prevent further spread of COVID-19.

It is estimated that our medical professionals and essential workers will need thousands of meals per week in the coming weeks. It will cost approximately $10 per meal. Your generous gift will help us provide:
