"This season the Gracie Book Club explores the pervasive culture of shame that surrounds mental illness. The books we will read together offer an opportunity for each of us to challenge our biases and stereotypes about mental health care through the power of storytelling. Readers can use this knowledge to become stewards of their own mental health and healers in their community.”
— First Lady Chirlane McCray
