Development Temp Positions

HPD’s Office of Development (OOD) leads the HPD’s effort to create and preserve affordable housing as a critical part of Housing Our Neighbors: A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness in collaboration with other HPD offices as well as other city, state and federal agencies. The OOD is comprised of seven divisions that administer a range of programs. These divisions include New Construction Finance, Special Needs Housing, Building and Land Development Services (BLDS), Homeownership Opportunities and Preservation, Preservation Finance, Compliance and Enforcement and Housing Incentives.

Become a Housing Inspector

HPD's Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services is looking for Housing Inspectors to join our team! Inspectors perform technical work in the inspection of multiple dwellings and other structures to ensure enforcement of the Multiple Dwellings Law, Housing Maintenance Code, and related regulations.

Become a Construction Project Manager

HPD's Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services is looking for Construction Project Managers to join our team! CPM's inspect, direct and monitor work relating to emergency repairs and hazardous materials abatement to ensure work is done safely and properly for NYC tenants.

Become a Senior Repair Crew Chief

HPD's Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services is looking for Senior Repair Crew Chiefs to join our team! This position supervises repair crews, makes difficult repairs for the improvement of housing conditions through the Emergency Repair Program, provides training in repair and rehabilitation skills, and performs related work.

NYC Housing & Planning Fellowship

Previously known as the HPD-HDC Housing Fellows Program, the NYC Housing & Planning Fellowship is now expanded  to include the Department of City Planning (DCP) and the Economic Development Corporation (EDC). Under the new two-year program, the Fellows are introduced to the City’s government work to advance affordable housing and community development throughout the five boroughs. Fellows rotate between 6-month assignments at the four partner City agencies, HDC, HPD, DCP and EDC with the shared mission to shape the future of New York City through affordable housing, land use and economic development policies.
