Program Overview

The HPD Summer Internship Program is an unpaid internship that provides our students a robust, dynamic, and engaging professional experience. The HPD summer experience is often the foundation of a career in housing, economic and urban development, or a variety of government opportunities for program participants.

Our Purpose
The purpose of our summer program is to offer on-the-job training that will supplement and support educational development in the classroom.

The Experience
In addition to gaining valuable professional experience, HPD will host regular programming and events for summer interns, including:

  • Breakfast with the Commissioner
  • Lunches and workshops
  • Exclusive tours of city landmarks
  • Networking opportunities with HPD leaders
  • Social outings with fellow interns and staff
  • Trips and site visits to HPD developments
  • HPD Summer Internship Program swag, and more!

Program Date & Hours
The summer program runs for 8-10 weeks.

Dates: Monday, June 5 - Friday, August 11, 2017
Hours: Flexible within Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, at least three days per week expected.
