461 Alabama Avenue, in East New York, Brooklyn, will be developed by CB Emmanuel Realty. In partnership with the non-for-profit Services for the UnderServed, CB Emmanuel will transform the 10,000 square-foot vacant lot into a supportive housing development with 70 affordable homes for formerly homeless and low-income households, and one unit for the superintendent. The nonprofit will provide onsite supportive services for the homeless. The building will also feature a lounge and multi-purpose room, tenant storage, a laundry room, and a landscaped rear yard and roof for resident use.
The project is one of the proposals selected from the M/WBE Building Opportunity RFP to develop vacant, City-owned sites for the creation of 100% affordable housing.
