NYCEDC, in conjunction with the Mayor's Office of Sustainability and HPD, selected BlocPower to develop and implement the Community-Based Retrofit Accelerator. The selection was mode on the basis of factors stated in the RFP which include, but are not limited to: the quality of the proposal, demonstrated successful experience in performing services similar to those encompassed in the RFP, the proposed fee, and plans for encouraging participation by minority and women-owned business enterprises in connection with the services provided.

The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) announced the RFP seeking a consultant to develop and implement a community-based outreach and assistance strategy to accelerate energy and water efficiency retrofits in small and mid-sized buildings within targeted neighborhoods. NYCEDC sought to develop new ways to identify, target, and assist building owners and decision-makers with these investments in neighborhoods that have been traditionally underserved by energy efficiency, water efficiency, and renewable energy services and to build a pipeline of potential projects for HPD’s Green Preservation Program.
