Inwood, Manhattan

The Inwood Housing Plan memorializes a set of strategies and actions that the City will take in response to the housing needs of residents and stakeholders in the Inwood community. The Inwood Housing Plan includes goals, strategies, and actions that are a part of the Inwood NYC Action Plan.

HPD has been closely involved in the Inwood neighborhood planning process, which include the goals and strategies summarized in the Inwood Housing Plan. The Inwood Housing Plan is built on the principal goals of preserving existing affordable housing, developing new affordable housing, increasing access to affordable housing, and promoting economic opportunity.

This document has been updated since a draft was issued on July 10, 2018 to incorporate additional community input gathered through the land use review process, and to refine the strategies accordingly. The Inwood Housing Plan is a part of a broader community development initiative under Housing New York, the Mayor’s housing plan to build and preserve affordable housing through strategic investments and to foster a more equitable and livable New York City.
