HPD has partnered with NYC Department of City Planning to create a neighborhood plan for the Southern Boulevard corridor and its surrounding neighborhoods. DCP and HPD will engage community residents, sister agencies, elected officials, community-based organizations, and other neighborhood stakeholders in the planning process.

This planning process will look holistically at the neighborhoods around Southern Boulevard, and will build on previous planning efforts such as the Sheridan-Hunts Point Land Use and Transportation Study, the Bronx River Greenway Plan, the Hunts Point Vision Plan, and the Bronx Community Board 3 197a Plan. It will leverage the momentum of current local initiatives and established partnerships, and coordinate public investments in infrastructure and services.

The neighborhood plan will include strategies and investments that address open space, housing affordability, health, retail and commercial development, and other issues that are raised through the community planning process.

More information about the June 2018 Open House, including a Virtual Open House, can be found at the Southern Boulevard Neighborhood Study website. See HPD’s Housing Boards and in Spanish (Estudio del vecindario).
