Pay It Off

A limited-time program called Pay It Off may help you lower the amount you owe in child support.

Offered from March 1–and now extended to April 30, 2021–Pay It Off doubles the value of payments that you make during March and April that total at least $200 toward child support debt that is permanently owed to the New York City Department of Social Services (NYC DSS).

In 2020, more than 500 parents like you reduced their debt an average of $6,415 with Pay It Off. Don’t miss this opportunity to lower or eliminate your DSS child support debt!

How Pay It Off Works

  1. Sign the Pay It Off Agreement, and send it in with a copy of your photo I.D. before April 30, 2021. You can return it by EMAIL TO:
    or by MAIL TO:
    Office of Child Support Services
    Pay It Off
    PO Box 830
    Canal Street Station
    New York, NY 10013

  2. Between March 1 and April 30, 2021, make one or more payments that total at least $200 toward your child support debt permanently owed to NYC DSS. If you have a current child support order, only payments above your court-ordered monthly amount can be applied toward DSS child support debt for a payment match.

  3. Pay by online payment system, certified check, personal check, money order, credit card, or debit card.

  4. Get your qualified payment(s) of at least $200 matched dollar for dollar, up to the amount you permanently owe NYC DSS. OCSS will send you a summary of actions taken 4 to 5 weeks later.

  5. When you enroll in Pay It Off, find out if you are eligible for additional reductions to your NYC DSS child support debt–including a one-time sign-on reduction of up to $1,000 and the potential to get up to $5,000 reduced if you qualify for the Arrears Credit Program.
