MOIA + SBS Hosts An Immigrant Media Roundtable, Highlighting Guide For Immigrant Entrepreneurs

NEW YORK— Today, the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) and the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) hosted an immigrant media roundtable to discuss resources for immigrant entrepreneurs and jobseekers.

The roundtable kicked off with highlighting the SBS Guide for Immigrant Entrepreneurs. This guide offers step-by-step advice for immigrant entrepreneurs planning, launching, or growing a small business. The topics include: signing a commercial lease, navigating government, and understanding the rights of immigrant New Yorkers.  The guide is available as a PDF in English and seven other languages including Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. To access the guide, New Yorkers can click here.During the roundtable, information on other resources and services were shared including SBS’ Business Solution Centers, Commercial Lease Assistance program to help entrepreneurs navigate contracts with their leases, Workforce1 services for immigrant jobseekers, and more.

This roundtable is part of a monthly activation MOIA is leading to spread awareness of city resources and services to immigrant media.
