The Correction Guardians Association is a Law Enforcement Organization consisting of Uniform and Non-Uniform members. They have been around for more than 71 years. Founded in 1939 by Dr. Lawrence Irvin, a NYC Corrections Department Dentist, and Correction Officer James Harrison, who was the first elected President of the Organization and also became the first African American Warden of the Department. The organization provides scholarships to minority youths, outreach, training, grievances, mentoring, guest speakers, financial advisement, toy drives, community service, family outings and networking. This organization takes pride in upholding the law and continues to serve the people of New York State to the best of our ability.
