A Master Plan is a type of permit that authorizes a prototype for a repetitive element on a large residential or commercial building that will be changed over time, such as windows or air conditioners. Master Plans can be issued at staff level or by the full Commission, and can simplify LPC's review of proposed alterations for future tenants and owners.
To file an application for work conforming to an existing Master Plan, submit an application form, descriptive materials, and a statement indicating that the proposed work conforms to the building's Master Plan. Staff can then issue an Authorization to Proceed.
To propose a master plan for your building, submit an application form and descriptive materials that document the existing and proposed conditions of the building.
