The Committee will accept and reply to correspondence, including e-mails, pertaining only to the Committee's outreach and recruitment efforts or to the qualifications, selection criteria, or application procedure for appointment to the office of New York City Marshal.

Applicants, and those considering applying to become New York City Marshals should check the "Marshals Application," "About City Marshals," and "Qualifying Criteria" on this site, which answer many frequently-asked questions. The New York City Department of Investigation, which supervises the City Marshals, posts on its web site additional information about them.

By State law, the Committee's records and proceedings and all applications are confidential. New York City Civil Court Act, § 1601 (3). The Committee will not reply to requests for information regarding particular applications. The Committee will acknowledge in writing its receipt of all applications and will notify applicants directly when further information or action is needed in connection with an application.

Any complaint about a city marshal should not be directed to the Committee, but should be sent to the New York City Department of Investigation. The Committee will not reply to such complaints.
