In this sequence of lessons, students will view animated selections from the 2021 New York Public School Film Festival. Age-appropriate lessons for elementary, middle, and high school classes will explore animation tools and techniques for visual storytelling. Students will then create their own storyboard that reimagines a story told from a different point of view.

Lesson plans on mental health

These units use film to examine strategies for good mental health. Inspired by viewing selections from the 2021 New York Public School Film Festival, elementary, middle, and high school students will learn how to talk about mental health, strategies for managing emotional wellbeing, and resources for help and support.
