NYC Film and Television Industry Economic Impact Study 2021

Made in NY Discount Card

We are proud to offer the "Made in NY" Discount card as an incentive for filming in New York City. Available to bona fide productions, the card provides discounts and special offers when presented to the more than 1,000 vendors currently participating.

Experienced PAs for Hire

The "Made in NY" PA Training Program produces graduates who are pre-screened, trained, and experienced. Our partner Brooklyn Workforce Innovations can arrange interviews or direct placements, several weeks in advance or at a moment's notice. This is a free service offered to productions shooting in NYC and surrounding areas.

NY State Film Tax Credits

The New York State Film Production Tax Credit program provides qualifying film and television productions a 30% credit for qualified production expenditures. All eligible productions shot in New York City may qualify for this program. Legislation extended the program through 2019, allocating $420 million per year.

NYS Film & Television Diverse Suppliers Directory

The Directory, which includes both vendors who have previously worked with the film and television industry and those who want to work with the industry, helps film and television productions find diverse vendors throughout New York State.

Location Library

The majority of these City-owned locations are available at no fee; some buildings operated by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) do require a fee. Learn more about DCAS at nyc.gov/dcas.

"Movies Under the Stars" Outdoor Film Series

MOME partners with the City's Parks Department to present hundreds of outdoor film screenings in public parks in all five boroughs, including many that have never hosted movie nights before.

SpaceFinder NYC is a free online rental marketplace for rehearsal, performance, and other creative spaces in the NYC region. The non-profit organization is funded by New York City's Department of Cultural Affairs and New York State's Council on the Arts.

In March 2017, MOME announced the findings of the first-ever economic impact study of NYC's music industry. The study found that the sector supports nearly 60,000 jobs, accounts for $5 billion in wages, and generates $21 billion in total economic output for the city.
