Amber Ruffin, Late Night Host and Writer, to Open 2022 'Made in NY' Talks, Presented by NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment

NEW YORK - The NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) is proud to launch its 2022 'Made in NY' Talks series, featuring a discussion with Amber Ruffin, host of The Amber Ruffin Show and writer for Late Night with Seth Myers.

The event, "Late-Night Trailblazer with Amber Ruffin," will be streamed live on Zoom, Monday, February 28 from 6:15-7:30pm EST and moderated by Raeshem Nijhon, Founder and Executive Producer of Culture House. This talk follows the return of The Amber Ruffin Show to Peacock, starting on February 25. Additional 2022 talks include "A New Day for Local News," offering advice for new local newsroom reporters, and "The Food Media Feed," with tips on how to carve out a career path in food media. "We are thrilled to kick off this year's 'Made in NY' Talks series with comedic powerhouse Amber Ruffin," said Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Anne del Castillo. "We are grateful to Amber, and to all of our 'Made in NY' Talks talent, for participating in these panels which aid our efforts to invest in NYC's creative future and spotlight career pathways within the entertainment industry."

"I'm so excited for the 2022 'Made in NY' spring series forum! We are gonna talk about all things Late Night and tell you all everything you need to know to break into the business," said Amber Ruffin.

Presented in partnership with the Center for Communication, the 'Made in NY' Talks series brings together industry leaders to share insights, information and news with New Yorkers looking to work in the media and entertainment industries. Late-Night Trailblazer: Amber Ruffin

Amber Ruffin became the first Black woman to write for a late-night network talk show when she joined the writing staff of Late Night with Seth Meyers. Now, she hosts her own late night series, The Amber Ruffin Show on Peacock, which offers a mix of sketches and monologues on current events.
