“Made in NY” Celebrates Pride

The "Made in NY" group marches the route

July 13, 2015 - This year’s Pride March included a group gathered under the “Made in NY” banner. More than 50 “Made in NY” graduates of the PA Training Program, their loved ones, and supporters joined in the march to celebrate the LGBT community.

The group was organized by “Made in NY” alum Eldar Iskandarov, who graduated from the program in 2014 as part of Cycle 35. Iskandarov got the idea when he and fellow graduate Dorothy Hall discussed the possibility of marching the year before. “I wanted to show our pride of being LGBT community in the production industry as well as give to back to the program by promoting it,” he said.”

Graduates who now work in the art, camera, grip & electric, locations and wardrobe departments took part in the march.

“The fact that we had approximately 55 people to come out and march meant a lot to me,” said Iskandarov. “It shows that we support each other and want to make things better, for us and future industry professionals.”
