IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NYC PRESS CORPS: THE PRESS CREDENTIAL OFFICE ANNOUNCES RENEWAL APPLICATION SCHEDULE FOR NYPD-ISSUED PRESS CARD HOLDERS
The Press Credential Office (PCO) has implemented a renewal application schedule for Press Cards that were issued by the NYPD with an expiration date of Jan. 15, 2023. The purpose of this extended renewal application schedule is to help ensure this office has the necessary time needed to process the applications prior to your Press Card expiration. The schedule to apply using our online portal is based on the first letter of your last name:
All approved Press Cards from renewal applications received by December 15, 2022 will be distributed in January 2023. Your new PCO-issued Press Card will permanently replace your NYPD card, and renewal will be required every two years. NYPD Press Card renewal applications not submitted during the designated schedule above, or submitted after Dec 15, 2022, are not guaranteed to be processed by Jan 15, 2023. Please click here in order to renew.
If you have an expired NYPD Press Card, you can apply for renewal here.
Expired press cards must be surrendered to the PCO at the time a new or renewal press card is issued. Please be sure to have a Lost/Stolen police report number if your press card was lost or stolen.
If you were issued a Press Card by MOME's Press Credentials Office and your Press Card is expiring on January 15, 2023, you DO NOT have to submit a renewal application. Your Press Card will be automatically extended to January 15, 2025. Please look out for an e-mail notifying you when you may pick up your extended Press Card.
