Flight 587 Memorial Service

November 12, 2017
On November 12, 2001, 260 passengers and plane crew and 5 bystanders were killed in Belle Harbor, Queens as a result of the American Airlines Flight 587 plane crash. Each year, at Flight 587 Park Memorial, the bell tolls at exactly 9:16am and a moment of silence recognizes the instant the plane crashed, followed by a reading of all 265 names of the victims by loved ones and remarks by the Mayor of the City of New York.

We would like to acknowledge, and thank our committed sponsors of the Flight 587 Memorial Service, without whom this event would not be possible:

  • Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York
  • NETNY.net
