Since its inception in 2014, Gracie Halloween has opened its doors to thousands of children from all 5 boroughs. Special attention is also given to making the event available and accessible to children residing in New York City homeless shelters and the foster care system.
For this special event, Gracie Mansion is converted into a haunted house and the lawn is transformed into a graveyard. Gracie Halloween is complete with spooky actors, props, face painting, music and balloon makers to entertain the children. Additionally, children have the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts activities organized by Blick Art Materials. Gracie Mansion’s Halloween décor and festivities are sponsored by the May Ellen & Gerald Ritter Foundation, Discovery, Inc., Blick Art Materials, TDF Costume Collection, The LEGO Group, Scholastic Education, Gristedes/D’Agostino Supermarkets, #Snazaroo, Whole Foods Market, Mars Incorporated, Utz/Clem Snacks, Inc., MUD, Make-up Designory, GrowNYC, Cabot Creamery Cooperative, NYC DCAS, NYPD Community Affairs Bureau, NYC DOT, ThriveNYC and NYC Emergency Management.
Gracie Mansion isn’t just home to @NYCMayor and @NYCFirstLady—it also hosts ghosts and ghouls who come out to play every Halloween. Have a safe Halloween, New York. Don’t upset the spirits! pic.twitter.com/u8Zi6Lt9FI
