October 26 & 28, 2018
Since its inception in 2014, Gracie Halloween has opened its doors to thousands of children from all 5 boroughs. Special attention is also given to making the event available and accessible to children residing in New York City homeless shelters and the foster care system.
For this special event, Gracie Mansion is converted into a haunted house and the lawn is transformed into a graveyard with all sizes of pumpkins from S & SO Produce, LLC, VanHouten Farms, Cedar Hill and Kernan Farms. Gracie Halloween is complete with spooky actors, props, music, magicians, fortune tellers and balloon makers to entertain the children. Additionally, children had the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts activities organized by Blick Art Materials. Children also enjoyed healthy snacks from Whole Foods Market and cheese from Cabot Creamery Cooperative. All children leave with a gift bag full of snacks, art supplies, books, and toys donated by our partners: Blick Art Materials, The LEGO Group, Baked in Brooklyn, Gristedes, Utz, New York Mets, Mars, Incorporated, NYC DCAS, NYPD Community Affairs Bureau, NYC DOT, FDNY, and NYC Emergency Management.
Gracie Mansion isn’t just home to @NYCMayor and @NYCFirstLady—it also hosts ghosts and ghouls who come out to play every Halloween. Have a safe Halloween, New York. Don’t upset the spirits! pic.twitter.com/u8Zi6Lt9FI— NYC Mayor's Office (@NYCMayorsOffice) October 31, 2018
