In celebration of Women's History Month, First Lady Chirlane McCray once again opened the doors of Gracie Mansion to female leaders and their mentees for the Annual Mentoring & Civic Leadership Reception. With remarks by First Lady Chirlane McCray, Jacqueline M. Ebanks, Executive Director of the Commission on Gender Equity, Saru Jayaraman, Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United and Director of the Food Labor Research Center at UC Berkeley, and Nala S. Toussaint, Transgender Health Advocacy Coordinator at the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, the evening was inspirational.
The event focused on women and aimed to empower them in all regards with an emphasis on careers and overall equality.
