Comprehensive Modernization

NYCHA is launching Comprehensive Modernization, an approach to capital projects that focuses on holistic capital improvements, rather than on separate component-based repairs. Supported by funds allocated by New York City for such projects, this approach will provide top-to-bottom renovations at certain sites to address all pillar areas through exterior and interior building renovations, systems upgrades, and related grounds improvements. These renovations are needed to bring these developments into compliance with the 2019 HUD agreement and will directly benefit the New Yorkers who live there.

This Request for Information for Information is to alert potential bidders of this upcoming program and to seek feedback from the design and construction industry on how future procurements should be structured. This document is asking firms interested in working with NYCHA to   provide information on their firms’ ability and interest to do the work, best practices from other projects/agencies, how they would approach the work, and other critical areas that with assist NYCHA in executing a successful program for Comprehensive Modernization. Firms of different expertise and size are encouraged to participate int his process, especially MWBEs and Section Three Business Concerns.

Working with NYCHA's Energy and Sustainability Department

• Vendors, contractors, and consultants interested in providing goods and/or services to NYCHA ​for energy and sustainability programs are encouraged to review the information about doing business with NYCHA .
• Energy Performance Contracting Program: Contractors and suppliers interested in NYCHA EPCs may request information directly from the implementing Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).
