Notice of Public Hearings Concerning Proposed Rates and Charges to be Effective July 1, 2020

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT in accordance with Section 1045-j (3) of New York Public Authorities Law, on Monday June 15, 2020, the New York City Water Board (the Board) will hold a public hearing concerning certain amendments to the Board’s Rate Schedule effective July 1, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing will be held via teleconference:

The Board will consider the following:
  1. Retaining the metered and unmetered water rates and rate-based billing programs that were promulgated in the Rate Schedule that was first effective July 1, 2019.
  2. For properties that were automatically enrolled in the Multiple-Family Conservation Program, the Board will consider amending the Rate Schedule so as to not assess the 10% surcharge in Fiscal Year 2020 or Fiscal Year 2021 on enrolled properties that did not administratively demonstrate compliance with the program’s terms.
  3. Clarifications to existing policies and procedures

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this hearing is being conducted by teleconference. The teleconference can be accessed by calling phone number (347) 921-5612 and entering passcode 750 175 546 #. An audio recording and written transcript of the hearing will be posted on the Board’s website following the hearing. Anyone may attend or register to speak. Oral testimony will be limited to five (5) minutes duration.
