Group Facilitation

Group Facilitation is a flexible process designed to assist small or large work units in achieving their goals. Facilitators tailor the process to meet the specific needs of each group. It is a flexible and dynamic process, in which facilitators pay close attention to the evolving needs of the group to support creative problem solving.

Group Facilitations are commonly used to:

  • Address conflicts that touch multiple members of a group
  • Gather information and identify the root causes of a conflict
  • Create spaces for people to express themselves and foster understanding
  • Build trust among members of a group
  • Administer successful meetings
  • Organize and structure group goals
  • Plan the completion of projects
  • Learn conflict resolution skills

Anyone in city government including; employees, union and management are encouraged to contact the Center to learn more about Group Facilitation and request a Group Process.
