Flu season is here... Don’t let the flu catch you!


Influenza --“the flu”-- is a highly contagious virus that spreads easily between people.

The flu is most dangerous for:

Young children
People over 65 years of age

Those with chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, asthma, or a weakened immune system.


A flu shot is the best way to protect yourself, your community, and your loved ones. Everyone aged 6 months and older should get the flu vaccine every year.

The City and its unions offer free flu shots to municipal employees and their families.  All employees, dependents, and pre-Medicare retirees eligible for New York City health benefits are covered to receive a flu vaccination at no-cost.

Making an appointment for your worksite flu shot is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. You can make an appointment online by visiting the online scheduler here. Enter the username nyc and the password flu to view clinics available to NYC employees.

    You can also schedule your appointment over the phone by calling 866-481-4391, Monday to Friday from 8am – 6pm.
  2. Schedule your flu shot during a 10-minute time slot that’s convenient for you!
  3. Wear short sleeved clothing so the nurse can easily reach your upper arm, and bring your employee ID to your appointment. To save time, you can fill out your consent form in advance and bring it with you.


Don’t see a clinic at your location?

  • Events are always being added, so keep an eye out for announcements from your agency/worksite.
  • DCAS is hosting clinics at the Municipal Building (1 Centre St) for all City employees:
    • September 10th – 10:00am – 2:00pm
    • October 4th – 10:00 am – 2:00pm
    • November 8th – 10:00am – 2:00pm
    • November 20th – 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • Some agencies open their clinics up to all City employees. Check the online scheduler to see if there open clinics in your area!

ACPNY locations offer pediatric vaccines for children and high-dose vaccines for those 65 years and older.
