Influenza - “the flu” - and COVID-19 are both highly contagious virus that spread easily, especially in the workplace. Anyone can become seriously ill from both viruses, even healthy people.

Now more than ever, everyone needs to do their part to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses like flu and COVID-19. Getting your flu shot is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones against the flu and its complications.

The City and its unions offer free flu shots to municipal employees and their families. All employees, dependents, and pre-Medicare retirees eligible for New York City health benefits are covered to receive a flu vaccination at no-cost.

All employees, dependents and pre-Medicare retirees covered by City health benefits can get flu shots free of cost or at a participating pharmacy. Find a pharmacy here.
Check with your health insurance provider to identify pharmacies that participate in your plan. Bring your medical insurance card with you to the pharmacy.
At an in-network physician’s office, your visit co-pay will be waived if the sole purpose of your visit is to get your flu shot. Visit your health plan website to find an in-network physician near you
