HOW WE CREATED WORKING NYC
WorkingNYC was created by the Mayor’s Office for Workforce Development in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity. It was developed through a user-centered and iterative process with input from City agencies, provider organizations, and the New Yorkers it aims to serve.
Version 1 of the site launched in August 2020, and it will continue to evolve to include new features and programs in future iterations.
WorkingNYC promotes and supports web accessibility standards and meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA standard compliance.
TECHNOLOGY POWERING WORKING NYC
WorkingNYC is developed on WordPress, an open-source content management system, and hosted on WP Engine. We leverage the robust community of plugin developers to manage content, some functionality and custom themes.
WorkingNYC’s front-end is based on the WorkingNYC Design Patterns. Content is developed and managed through Airtable and Gather Content.
