New Citywide Resources to Reduce Gun Violence

Safe in the City Grant: Starting in the summer of 2017, the Mayor's Office to Prevent Gun Violence is inviting applications from New Yorkers for small grants – ranging from $500 to $1000 –to incentivize and encourage resident leaders and organizations to promote peace in communities across the city. Proposals should be creative and specific, encourage community cohesion and empowerment and be geared toward violence reduction and promotion of positive lifestyle choices.

Public Safety Toolkit: A guide that provides New Yorkers with best practices and strategies to employ intervention and prevention anti-violence activities in neighborhoods across the city, provide information about how to report information about a crime safely and anonymously, and offer resources to help families and neighborhoods in the aftermath of a violent event.
