Staten Island/Bronx Special Districts Zoning Text Amendment

The Staten Island/Bronx Special Districts Update is a comprehensive, collaborative effort to develop a standardized approach to natural resource protection and neighborhood development in certain environmentally sensitive areas of the Bronx and Staten Island.  The approach seeks to create a simpler approval process for homeowners, clear standards for the review of larger sites by the City Planning Commission, and a consistent ecological strategy across these neighborhoods. Southern Boulevard will be a comprehensive planning process that implements the land use vision of the Sheridan Expressway – Hunts Point Land Use and Transportation Study as well as priorities from several other plans in the study area. Through a ground-up planning process involving the many dedicated organizations, businesses, and community members, the study will knit these plans and the community together to create a plan for the future.
