Services

Probation is the process whereby the Court has determined that an individual can avoid prison or jail and remain in the community under our supervision. DOP is singular in its role of providing community-based accountability and support for those who would otherwise be incarcerated and provide core services; such as investigations, victim advocacy, community supervision, immediate response to violations, Behavioral Health Services, and treatment services. Our dedicated practitioners supervise those on probation in our communities, and also provide support mechanisms to assist the people we supervise to get housing, jobs, training and substance abuse treatment. Our officers work to keep New Yorker’s safe by collaborating with community leaders, fostering positive behavior change and safely supervise people in their communities, preventing incarceration.
