Crime Stoppers: Cash Rewards for Anonymous Info that Solves Crimes

The public's help is essential in solving crimes. Since 1983, the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Program–made possible with the support of the New York City Police Foundation–has used anonymous tips to solve more than 1500 murders and attempted murders, and more than 2200 robberies.  In doing so, it has distributed more than $2.5 million in rewards to the public.  Now this invaluable crime-fighting tool is raising its reward offer from, $3,500 to $5,000.
