City Opens Applications for Data Analyst Training Accelerator To Prepare Underrepresented New Yorkers for In-Demand Tech Careers
Applications Opened Monday, February 3 for Second Cohort, Running From May 11 Through September 18
New York – NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) Commissioner Gregg Bishop announced that applications are now open for the next cohort of the Data Analyst Training Accelerator (DATA). The 18-week, in-person data analysis training program is designed to prepare New Yorkers with limited tech experience for in-demand data analyst jobs that help them launch careers in marketing and data analytics at target salaries of $55,000 or more.
This training initiative, in partnership with Galvanize, seeks to provide an accessible pathway to data analyst careers for underrepresented New Yorkers, including those who are seeking an alternative to a four-year degree. Students will graduate with in-demand skills in advanced Excel, SQL, Python, and digital marketing-related analytics, as well as career advancement and interview skills. The program is open to candidates without previous formal tech training or professional experience as Data Analysts.
“The Data Analyst Training Accelerator (DATA) program ensures that participants unlock their potential and receive the skills necessary to access careers in our city’s growing tech ecosystem,” said Gregg Bishop, Commissioner of the NYC Department of Small Business Services. “The 18-week training program provides an opportunity for a lucrative career for in-demand data analyst jobs.”
"Galvanize is dedicated to closing the skills gap that exists in technology today, and we're thrilled that the City of New York not only recognizes this need as well, but has dedicated resources toward equipping New Yorkers with the tools they need to participate in the city's growing technology economy today and in the future," said Harsh Patel, CEO, Galvanize.
