The Strategic Impact COVID-19 Commercial District Support Grant provides funding to community-based development organizations (CBOs) to implement local COVID-19 recovery support to small businesses. The funds will be used to conduct outreach, provide technical assistance to connect small businesses, increase awareness and comprehensive of new City and State rules and regulations, and strengthen merchant relationships to foster collaboration and increased local organizing.

Single Neighborhood COVID-19 Commercial District Support Grant
Single Neighborhood Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis – contingent upon available funds – and provide exactly $20,000 in dedicated project funding for terms up to six months.
The winter/spring 2020-21 strategic focus is to fund single neighborhood service providers to implement a place-based approach to COVID-19 commercial district support services, specifically 1) Business Support and Retention and 2) Merchant Organizing activities, in one of the designated target neighborhoods.

Multi-Neighborhood COVID-19 Commercial District Support Grant
Multi-Neighborhood Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis – contingent upon available funds – and provide exactly $20,000 in dedicated project funding for each neighborhood selected, up to a maximum of five, for terms up to six months.
The winter/spring 2020-21 strategic focus is to fund multi-neighborhood or borough-wide service providers to implement a place-based approach to COVID-19 commercial district support services, specifically 1) Business Support and Retention and 2) Merchant Organizing activities, in two or more of the designated target neighborhoods.
Multi-neighborhood or Borough-wide service providers must apply to work in a minimum of two and a maximum of five of the designated service areas within the same borough in order to be eligible.

Citywide COVID-19 Commercial District Support Grant
Citywide Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis – contingent upon available funds – and provide up to $200,000 in dedicated project funding, for terms of up to six months.
Citywide Grants provide funding to organizations serving multiple boroughs and neighborhoods across the city for the development and deployment of new tools, strategies, and frameworks for collective impact to address commercial district needs and provide direct technical assistance to place-based organizations serving different neighborhoods and boroughs.
The winter/spring 2020-21 strategic focus is to fund one or more citywide service providers to provide technical assistance and project implementation support for 1) Business Support and Retention and 2) Merchant Organizing activities to multiple place-based organizations across multiple neighborhoods and boroughs that are granted Commercial District Support Grants.
