Climate Justice

Fighting climate change and fighting inequality are two fronts in the same battle. Climate change affects everyone, but its impacts are not distributed equally. The pollution, natural disasters, and economic loss created by climate change disproportionately impact marginalized communities.

However, climate change is not only a threat to equality – it’s also a major opportunity. Green jobs and programs to improve the health, cleanliness, and sustainability of New York City can and should be used to uplift all New Yorkers. We can build a green, circular economy where everyone rises together.
