When did the pilot begin?
The pilot began when the first provider was approved on June 27, 2018.
How do I sign up?
You may register with any of the approved participants, scroll up for the current list.
Do I need a smartphone to participate?
You may need a smartphone, depending on the E-Hail provider you plan to work with. Contact the company directly to learn more about how to work with them.
How will I be paid?
You will be paid by the E-Hail provider. Passengers will not pay inside the vehicle. Contact the E-Hail provider to learn how they will pay you.
Can I sign up with mutliple companies?
Yes. You may choose to register with multiple companies, as long as they are approved to participate in the pilot. Scroll up to see a list of companies that are currently approved.
Can the passenger change their destination during a trip?
This is up to the E-Hail provider speak with any company you are working with to find out whether this is allowed.
What should I do when I accept a flex fare?
When you accept a flex fare you must turn your rooflight off by changing your on-duty status to “unavailable – ehail.” Do not engage the meter when the trip begins.
Will I receive a violation for not accepting a Flexible Fare trip?
No. Like all E-Hail trips, Flexible Fare trips are optional. You may choose to only accept passengers who hail you on the street, if you wish.
How will I receive Flexible Fare offers?
Contact the pilot particpants to learn how they will send you trips.
How much will I be paid?
You will be told how much you will be paid before accepting the offer.
Will the fare be the same as the meter?
Fare calculation is determined by the pilot participant, therefore pricing may differ from metered fares. Do not turn on the meter for these trips.
